Sisters of St. Francis Health Services

We, the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration, live the gospel message according to the ideals of St. Francis and our foundress, Mother Maria Theresia Bonzel. Guided by the moral and ethical values and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, we, with our co-workers, serve the people of God in Christ's healing ministry. In co-sponsorship with other religious healthcare providers who share our values, and in partnership with them and our lay colleagues, we work together to strengthen the Catholic healthcare presence. We do this by:

  • Providing a broad, coordinated continuum of healthcare services with an emphasis on improving the health of persons and communities.
  • Developing creative structures for healthcare delivery.
  • Being advocates for those in need.
  • Identifying and developing our sisters and laity for Franciscan leadership.

Our Mission

Our mission to provide holistic care to growing communities has required us to become increasingly good stewards of our resources. Therefore, as we embrace the future, we systematically seek out ways to improve the operational and financial performance of our system through the following initiatives:

  • Creating system-wide standardization for increased operational efficiencies and cost effectiveness in areas such as financial services, quality services, human resource policies, clinical best practices and management reporting.
  • Using patient, co-worker and physician satisfaction measurement tools in order to continually improve our performance.
  • Enhancing our corporate services in areas such as information services, receivables collection, capital formation, group purchasing, clinical laboratory services and construction.
  • Measuring and sharing social responsibility and accountability.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a Midwest Catholic healthcare network shaped by our Franciscan values, which strengthens our high-quality, mission-driven, financially viable services. We will accomplish this by meeting the healthcare needs of those we serve, especially the disadvantaged, and by:

  • Providing excellent quality services
  • Strengthening our acute care facilities
  • Providing clinics and state-of-the-art ambulatory diagnostic and treatment centers
  • Caring for the home-bound
  • Offering community outreach programs
  • Developing People
  • Partnering
