Wheaton Franciscan Services
Located in Wheaton, Illinois, Wheaton Franciscan Services is the
parent organization for health and shelter service organizations
sponsored in four states by the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters. The
Wheaton Franciscan System includes ministries in Colorado, Illinois,
Iowa and Wisconsin. System services throughout Wisconsin
collectively comprise one of the largest health provider systems in
the state.
Wheaton Franciscan member organizations and affiliates include
hospitals, sub-acute facilities, home health agencies, physician
clinics, assisted living, fixed income housing, and other joint
ventures including health maintenance organizations, diagnostic
facilities and other physician partnerships.
Wheaton Franciscan Services was incorporated in July 1983 to:
- preserve and strengthen Judeo-Christian values;
- provide a framework for lay expertise and involvement;
- respond to an increasingly complex environment;
- ensure continuity of Franciscan sponsorship; and,
- assure System wide viability and excellence.
The Wheaton Franciscan Sisters comprise the United States
Province of the Congregation of Franciscan Sisters, Daughters of the
Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The international congregation has
provinces in France, Germany, Holland and Indonesia, with Sisters
also serving in Brazil, Malawi, Nigeria and Romania. The U.S.
Province is headquartered in Wheaton, Illinois.

Wheaton Franciscan Services currently sponsors owned and
affiliated facilities in three states as active participants of the

centers, clinics / physician practices, nursing home / assisted
living sites, home health, outpatient pharmacy and rehabilitation
facilities, laboratories and other business units.
